For several summers I have played harp and given talks on the history of the harp in the Glastonbury Abbey Abbot's Kitchen. It has very reverberant acoustics. Here I play Nueva Vida by Ismael Ledesma, a Paraguayan virtuoso and composer whom I met met at the Stamford Harp festival, and who lives in France. This tune features the trino trill technique.
Here I play Llegada, a welcoming, festive Paraguayan tune whose sheer simplicity allows all kinds of variations. It is one of the most cheerful pieces I know, and was obviously composed in a sunny place with abundant fruit and lots of lively, good looking people around.
